Fine bronze work. Captures a moment in time. The Dog is actually the cover of the ink well.
Wonderful Bronze, ( With High Copper ratio) Blacksmith pc collected at auction in Kyoto. It is signed on the base of the figure ( Schmitz ) The figure is western and the workmanship is spectacular. The Base is Stone. It looks to be at least Taisho, ( Or around 100 years old). Just showed up at auction out of a Japanese collection.
