Very unusual old suikeki,(scholars stone) with a piece of petrified wood running directly though the natural stone formation.
Carved into the stone is a brush pot giving the suiseki a dual purpose.

Three 19th C. Oni Kawara,(Temple demon roof tiles).
Their fierceness is believed to keep evil from entering the temple grounds. These three roof tiles are all from the same Shiga temple.

Japanese antique thick bronze hand pounded temple nipple gongs. For hundreds of years the Japanese traded with the Javanese gong makers because of the superior sound and quality.
These gongs most likely were made in Java.
Heavenly deep tone and beautifulpatina.
Collected at a temple auction near Nagahama, Japan.
