Rare Kawana-yaki copperplate transfer porcelain bowl
in original Edo period Kaei,(1848-1854)dated wooden box. This bowl was made at the Koujaku-in Buddhist temple in Nagoya, Japan. The Owari Kanata kiln was small with limited production and closed in 1888,(Meiji 13). The bowl was filthy when I found it at Nagoya auction but cleaned up well.Mint condition. Like it was made by angels or in this case Buddhist monks.
