Buddhist Zen temple fish gong.
Wooden gongs like this were used to let the monks know when it was time to complete tasks. They can have more elaborate carving,(Like the one hanging in the Gardner museum) but this one is from a country temple in Shiga and very simple. Great Mingei piece with original hammer.

19th C. Ojime/ Netsuke with a leather tobacco pouch.
Looks to be a female figure clutching a set of large minks/ prayer beads. On the tobacco pouch it is written,
"Fire prevention".
