Japanese Bamboo Hanaire, Flower Vase with Gold Lacquer Makie Painting and Mother-of-Pearl Inlay.

A beautiful large bamboo 2 story vase with detailed gold and silver lacquer painting of a village scene. Mother-of-pearl inlay is used to decorate the farm house roof and pine tree burl.
Natural bamboo sections are used to hold water.
There are a few hairline cracks appear outside, but not trough inside of the water container.
It has been tested and no leak.

A sensitive brush works in soft colors scroll of a carp jumping out of iris pond by Araki Jippo (1872-1944)
Araki Jippo, a Japanese artist born in Nagasaki is well known artist by receiving Gold prize at British-Japanese Expo in 1910, and Silver prize at 1904 World Expo in St. Louise.
His works are exhibited at many museums in Japan including Tokyo Metropolitan Museum.

It comes in original wooden box. It has been remounted into silk frame and is in great condition.
