Meiji - Taisho era (early 1900s) shop sign of a nutritional fortification medicine called "Somatoze" produced by Bayer of Germany.

There are illustration of a gaunt man (at right) start taking this revitalizing medicine and start gaining weight and getting healthy as it goes left side. At the left end, the explanation says, "after taking Somatoze for 2 months he looks healthy and happy as Daikoku God."
